Rayco Automotive
wants you to get 200,000 miles out of your car. What
is the secret? A proper maintenance program that includes
regular oil changes and
periodic major maintenance. eHow.com -
the world's most widely read how to manual - states, "If
you change your oil regularly and do major maintenance on your car,
I guarantee that it will last over 200,000 miles."
Trouble-free Long Life
The key to maintaining engine longevity is simple: frequent oil
changes. The oil, along with the filter, should be changed regularly
for maximum engine performance.
The role of oil in a car’s engine is to protect internal parts
and provide lubrication against wear. Oil is continually
circulating throughout the engine. Over time it breaks down
and accumulates substances such as dust, metallic shavings,
condensation, and even antifreeze that can damage internal engine
parts.
The oil filter works to trap and remove debris and other
contaminants. When the oil filter becomes saturated, the oil is no
longer “cleaned” and the risks posed by contaminants intensify. Oil
pressure can also suffer once the filter becomes clogged. As a
result, fuel economy decreases and the risk of emissions increases
along with the potential for engine failure.

Rayco Automotive provides comprehensive service, including:
·
Changing your oil filter
·
Checking the air filter
·
Checking and topping-off all fluids
·
Lubricating all fittings
·
Checking the engine for leaks
·
Checking your belts and hoses
·
Checking tire pressure
and condition
·
Checking the entire undercarriage

Diagnostics. Rayco's trained and certified
automotive technicians have proven themselves on hundreds of
car repairs. Our state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment
lets us scan and examine all values from your cars on-board
computer and sensors, perform exact engine and ignition
analysis, and monitor the state of your battery and electrical
system. We know exactly what needs to be done before we

Transmission Service. A
reliable transmission is a priority for everyone,
from business people to homemakers to students to
retirees. But
transmissions are often neglected until a
problem develops. As a guideline, transmissions should
be serviced every 30 months or 30,000 miles. A complete
servicing includes changing the transmission fluid and filter,
all gaskets and and o-rings, and adjustment of the linkage.
Keep an eye open for the following
symptoms: the transmission
slips, it shifts roughly, or there is a hesitation when
shifting from forward to reverse. If your car exhibits these
symptoms, give us a call at 323-8844 and we'll get your
transmission service scheduled. |

Batteries and Electrical. Today's cars are
sophisticated. What were once luxuries, like power
door locks and seats, are now considered standard equipment by
many drivers. Keeping your car's electrical system
operating has gotten more involved, too, as on-board computers,
sensors, and climate control systems add complexity. Our
ASE certified technicans pinpoint problems accurately.
We load-test your battery to make sure you won't get caught in
the cold. And we use quality, guaranteed parts in all
our repairs.
Exhaust Systems. The worst enemy of
your exhaust system is corrosion, or rust. Rust is
caused by moisture reacting with the steel exhaust pipe or
muffler and forming iron oxide. Moisture, or water vapor
is present in the exhaust as a by-product of combustion. Moisture can also come in the
form of rain, which we get plenty of here in Delaware.
Also, Del DOT salts the roads in
the winter time. Salt speeds up the corrosion process
and shortens the life of your exhaust system. Because of
our climate, we do a lot of muffler and exhaust system repair.
We have all the equipment you need, and always give a
competitive price with our full guarantee. |
